got over how it charged me oodles of pounds when it bought out and
changed my Woolwich bank account.
I have always had issued with their branch customer services, or lack
thereof, but recently on investigating which current account is best
for using abroad, I have finally found something that they are
actually good for - offering an account that you can use overseas
without paying ATM cash machine or in store charges.
A rough calculator worked out that by using my Nationwide BS debit
card instead of my HSBC or my Lloyds debit card that this alone could
save me around £500 over the whole trip, and finding savings like that
are what my trip is all about.
Once again I am satisfied that it was a wise thing to do by going
through all the rigmarole of opening lots of different accounts with
different banks and building societies, as now I already have an
account with them set up and running which I can use right away and so
do not have to add this chore to my list of pre-travel preparations.
